Shopify practice

The Shopify work we've done since 2022

Before Gwiksoft was an AI platform, it was a Shopify engineering shop — and that practice is still open. If your store is the business, this is the team that has been keeping stores like it running.

Where this sits now. Our focus has moved to agentic and conversational AI — that is what the rest of the site is about. The Shopify practice continues for existing clients and new builds where commerce engineering is the actual need, and it is increasingly where our agent work gets deployed first.

Services

Commerce engineering, end to end

01

Shopify & Shopify Plus

Theme and backend engineering for stores where uptime, speed, and conversion are business metrics.

  • Theme architecture and Online Store 2.0 sections
  • Plus scripts, flows, and B2B configuration
  • Migrations from legacy themes and platforms
  • Core Web Vitals and conversion work
02

Shopify agentic commerce

Agentic Shopify apps and LLM-powered storefronts — AI that acts on the store, under human oversight.

  • Scoped tool access over Admin and Storefront APIs
  • Logged writes with human approval gates
  • LLM search and merchandising surfaces
  • Evaluation harnesses before anything ships
03

Headless commerce

Hydrogen, Storefront and Admin APIs — decoupled front ends without losing the platform underneath.

  • Hydrogen and Oxygen builds
  • Storefront API data layers and caching
  • Incremental headless migration paths
  • CMS integration for editorial control
04

Custom apps & integrations

Purpose-built apps and connections into the ERP, PIM, and fulfilment systems around the store.

  • Embedded admin apps built on Polaris
  • ERP, PIM, WMS and 3PL integrations
  • Webhook pipelines with retry and replay
  • OAuth, App Bridge, and Shopify billing
05

Checkout extensibility

Discounts, validation, delivery and payment logic implemented the supported way — upgrade-safe.

  • Shopify Functions for discounts and validation
  • Checkout UI extensions
  • Delivery and payment customisations
  • checkout.liquid migration off deprecated code
06

Performance & maintenance

Long-term ownership: monitoring, regression control, and the work that keeps stores boring.

  • Release process and staging discipline
  • Synthetic monitoring and alerting
  • Performance budgets enforced in CI
  • Scheduled dependency and API version upgrades
How we work

Audit first, then a written plan

01

Audit

We read the store, the code, and the data before proposing anything. You get the findings whether or not we work together.

02

Scope

A written plan with sequencing, risks, and an estimate. No work starts against a verbal brief.

03

Build

Staged releases, reviewed changes, and a demo environment you can see at any point.

04

Operate

Monitoring, regression control, and a named engineer who already knows the codebase.

Engagements

Three ways to work with us

Project

Fixed scope

A defined build with a start and an end — migration, replatform, a new app, a checkout rework.

  • Written scope and estimate
  • Milestone billing
  • Handover documentation

Retainer

Monthly

Continuous engineering capacity for stores where the roadmap never really stops.

  • Reserved hours each month
  • Priority incident response
  • Quarterly roadmap review

Embedded

Per engineer

Our engineers work inside your team, your tooling, your standups.

  • Dedicated engineers
  • Your process and repos
  • Minimum three months
